Who knew Diddy’s appeal extended beyond the borders of MTV? The televised version of Raisin in the Sun helped give the Alphabet network a rare Monday win.
8pm
- Deal or No Deal (15.3 million, 4.2/11 in 18-49) was actually the evening’s best solo performer.
- A Raisin in the Sun (3.6/9) averaged 12.7 million over three hours.
- A special episode of The Moment of Truth (3.6/10) had 8.6 million tuning in.
- How I Met Your Mother* (6.2 million, 2.1/6) repeated last week’s performance; Welcome to the Captain (5.3 million, 1.8/5) was down slightly.
- Gossip Girl* (1.3 million, 0.5/1) was up by a notch.

Somewhere packed in those Deal or No Deal suitcases is a ratings gold mine. The game show helped give NBC another Monday win.
8pm
- Deal or No Deal (16.8 million, 5.2/13 in 18-49) was the hottest ticket of the evening.
- The Dance War finale (2.3/6) say goodbye to 9.1 million fans.
- About 7.4 million (3.1/8) were left hanging by Prison Break‘s (series?) ender.
- How I Met Your Mother* (6.2 million, 2.2/6) slid by 900,000; Welcome to the Captain (5.5 million, 2.0/5) did even worse.
- Gossip Girl* (1.2 million, 0.5/1) repeated last week’s performance.

Now that we have come to the end of the writers’ strike, it’s time to once again update our television programming schedules.
Mid-season replacements have had seen their debuts shuffled (e.g. New Amsterdam), some programs are coming back with new episodes (e.g. Scrubs, 30 Rock) while other shows aren’t slated to return until next year (Pushing Daisies).
Here you can find a
compilation of the 2008 post-strike schedulesfor the five major networks. I would highly recommend printing this out since there are major changes across the board.
Two notes:
- This is the updated schedule as of May 6. Be prepared to see more changes and settling in the weeks to come.
- The list consists of premieres and dates for new episodes.
- If a particular time slot/network is not mentioned, either nothing has changed or no specific announcement has been made yet.

Monday Ratings: NBC Scores A Good Deal

FOX may have Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but NBC rules Mondays with its share of reality hits. Last night, the network lead in both viewers and demos.
8pm
- Dance War (9.2 million, 2.4/6 in 18-49) was the hour’s most-watched.
- American Gladiators (8.8 million, 3.7/9) surpassed its reality competitor in the demos.
- About 7.9 million tuned in to see a Prison Break (3.3/9).
- Both How I Met Your Mother* (2.7/7) and Welcome to the Captain (2.6/7) earned 7.1 million viewers.
- Gossip Girl* (1.2 million, 0.4/1) slipped by about 250,000.

Wednesday Ratings: FOX Repeats Itself

Pitted against stale competition, American Idol and The Moment of Truth skated away with their victories. FOX was once again the network to beat.

- About 26 million tuned into American Idol (10.4/26 in 18-49).
- Deal or No Deal* (8.1 million, 1.9/5) sent 1.7 million packing.
- A rare Wednesday appearance drew 8 million to Two and Half Men* (2.5/6); The Big Bang Theory (6.5 million, 2.1/5) lost part of its lead-in.
- Wife Swap (6.6 million, 2.5/6) saw a 800,000 bump.
- A special America’s Next Top Model* (1.7 million, 0.8/2) made a showing for CW.

- Welcome to the Captain (2.7/7) greeted 8.1 million newcomers; How I Met Your Mother* (7.8 million, 2.7/7) fared almost as well.
- Prison Break (2.9/5) locked up 7.5 million.
- Gossip Girl* (0.6/1) lured in 1.5 million.

Last night’s Presidential address threw viewers and networks for a loop. Numbers were down all across the board. After piecing together the ratings, it appears ABC narrowly won with the viewers while NBC was the victor with the demos.
8pm
- Two and a Half Men* (9.7 million, 3.4/9 in 18-49) beat out all of Monday’s originals.
- Dance War (9.4 million, 2.5/6) lost a little footing from last week.
- American Gladiators (8.5 million, 3.5/6) plunged 1.6 million into the water.
- How I Met Your Mother* (7.5 million, 2.6/7) saw a 400,000 boost.
- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles* (6 million, 2.2/6) was down 2.6 mill.
- A special Gossip Girl (1.7, 0.7/2) went barely noticed on its new night.

Although Dance War came nowhere near Dancing With The Stars numbers, the premiere episode (barely) surpassed the second Gladiators episode in viewers.
8pm
- FOX was the night’s most watched network. Its BCS football coverage drew 21.6 million viewers (7.6/18 in 18-49) for the evening.
- Approximately 11 million watched the debut of Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann (3.0/7).
- American Gladiators (10.91 million, 4.8/12) beat the ABC show in the demos.
- How I Met Your Mother* (2.0/5) scored 6.18 million; The Big Bang Theory* (2.2/5) pulled in 6.36 million.
- Everybody Hates Chris* (0.9/2) turned in 2.18 million while Aliens in America* (0.6/1) coughed up 1.53 million.
9pm
- More people watched Two and a Half Men* (11.6 million, 3.9/9 in 18-49) than the original shows.
- Deal or No Deal (3.6/8) sucked in 10.7 million.
- Rules of Engagement* (8.1 million, 2.8/6) lost part of its lead-in.
- Girlfriends* (0.6/1) attracted 1.41 million; The Game* (0.7/2) did only slightly better with 1.61 million.
10pm
- The season premiere of Medium (3.3/8 in 18-49) lured in 9.6 million.
- CSI: Miami* (9.14 million, 1.8/5) came in a close second.
- October Road (5 million 1.8/4) lost about 680,000 from its last original episode.

A new crop of reality entries couldn’t take down the comedy/CSI combo on CBS. The Eye Network was victorious with the viewers and the 18-49s.

- Approx. 8 million watched a repeat of House* (2.6/8 in 18-49).
- Clash of the Choirs (2.4/6) sang to the tune of 7.9 million.
- Duel (2.5/7) narrowly came in third with its 7.7 million.
- How I Met Your Mother* (2.3/7) kicked off CBS’ evening with 6.6 million; The Big Bang Theory* (2.4/10) had 6.7 million.
- Everybody Hates Chris* (1.9 million, 0.7/2) and Aliens in America* (1.4 million, 0.5/1) were both down from last week.
9pm
- An hour-long Two and a Half Men* (3.7/9 in 18-49) easily beat its competitors with 11.4 million.
- K-Ville (5.3 million, 1.7/4) did a tad bit better than last week.
- Notes from the Underbelly (5 million, 1.9/5) was up about 400,000.
- Girlfriends* (1.4 million, 0.6/2) and The Game* (1.4 million, 0.6/2) were both down about 1 million.
